All the characters (except the parents) are seniors in high school.

Daniel Dorfman

Unless otherwise noted, compulsively clad in a blue shirt with the number 42 on it. Daniel is small with poor posture and a wild mop of curly, brown hair. He wears wire-rim glasses.

Karl Hoodak

Tall and thin, Karl has easy good looks and a relaxed manner. Karl walks with confidence, his chin up. He wears a white t-shirt with black sleeves unless otherwise noted and a sweatband on his right wrist. His blonde hair hangs just past his eyes. Karl stands a full head taller than Daniel.

Ryan Chow

Chinese, stocky, and broad-shouldered, Chow wears black horn-rimmed glasses and sports a clean-shaven head. Unless otherwise noted, Chow always wears a backwards black baseball hat and a black 'Slayer' t-shirt. Less than a half a head shorter than Daniel. Sample

Ashley MacDonald

Initially, Ashley has long, tangled brown hair with a red-dyed braid in front. She stands the same height as Daniel. Ashley has a cute figure, but initially dresses in baggy pants and an oversized, white t-shirt that says 'the Pixies' and sports a pair of oversized glasses with round frames. She's slightly pigeon-toed and slouches. After her makeover, Ashley has chin-length hair, the braid is gone as are the red streak and her glasses. Unless otherwise noted she wears tighter pants and a baby tee (though still white with 'the Pixies' written on it) and her posture is improved - except when sad or otherwise distressed.

Michelle Lee

Michelle is deaf and always speaks using sign language. Michelle is Korean with straight shoulder-length black hair typically held back behind her ears by a headband. She also has bangs. Michelle keeps her chin up, but unless another emotion dominates her face, she has a nervous, shy expression. Michelle is not quite as thin as Ashley and about a half head shorter than Ashley and Daniel.

Vanessa Caulfield

Vanessa has wavy, long blonde hair and a very curvy figure. Unless otherwise noted she wears a form-fitting purple v-neck sweater with black pants. After the prom her left eye is black and swollen. Vanessa is the same height as Ashley but curvier.

Katrina Murray

Katrina is tall and thin, almost as tall as Karl and a touch thinner than Ashley. She has wavy, long black hair. Katrina wears a black miniskirt to show off her long legs and a small, white, tight button-down girls' blouse. She has a very pretty face, or would, if she didn't constantly wear an expression of displeasure or a slight sneer. Though her hips flare and she isn't boyish, Katrina is the least curvy of the girls. Sample

Supporting Characters

Paul St. John

Paul is an adonis. He and all the captains of the various varsity sportsteams dress in letterman jackets, white t-shirts and blue jeans. The letterman jackets are grey with maroon sleeves. WA on the front and the symbol of the sport they play on the back. Paul plays football. Paul stands a half a head taller than Karl. He's broad-shouldered and bears a slight resemblance to Clark Kent/Superman but blond. Paul carries a football everywhere he goes.

Chip Physically, Chip is a smaller version of Paul except with brown hair and more of a moonlike face shape. He carries a baseball bat. Tank Tank wears wrestler's headgear. He's Paul's height but impossibly broad. Bill Bill is the tallest of all the jocks. His head should never enter into a panel except at great distances. He has a buzz cut and carries a basketball. Fred Fred is the thinnest of the jocks. He has wavy, black hair, stands just a touch shorter than Paul and Tank.

Steven

Steven is a frat boy waiting to happen. He wears a pink Izod shirt with the collar popped and does his hair in that 'messy' way that you know took hours and copious amounts of gel. He is a little taller than Daniel, a little shorter than Karl, and not as broad as Chow.

Craig

Craig is the bad kind of nerdy—the kind that gives all the geek-chic types a bad reputation. He wears a green and purple horizontal-striped sweater, has freckles, red hair kept in a buzzcut, and extremely poor posture. He's Karl's height.

Chester 'CJ' Wellington

Chester has slight features, a pointed nose, and a stuck up expression. CJ is almost supernaturally pale with wavy, light brown hair. He's only a little taller than Daniel and equally thin.

Mr. Caulfield

Mr. Caulfield is a handsome man of a medium build. He wears a white sweater vest over a blue button down shirt and smokes a pipe. He's 'father' as the 1950's ideal.

Mrs. Caulfield

Mrs. Caulfield is a beautiful and a slightly older version of her daughter. She wears a pink house dress.

Mr. Lee

Mr. Lee's about Daniel's height, slightly plump and begining to go bald. He wears a green short sleeve button down shirt.

Mrs. Lee

Mrs. Lee is a slightly older and shorter version of her daughter. She wears a grey blouse and black pants.
